Welcome

This is a place for your custom orders of pocket mirrors/key chains/bottle openers, ribbon ornaments, and flower combs! ^.^

[My Work]
I adore folk art so I love making kanzashi and ribbon ornaments.

This is a one person shop. I am the only one doing all these ribbon ornaments, flowers and buttons in this little shop. So you know the custom order will take a normal human being time to finish. No mass production here, only yours truly is working hard for you. My house is a smoke-free environment. I do have a tank full of guppy fish. ^.^

When I was 10, I learned how to fold those tiny units from my mom. And I just could not stop making these tiny cones. To a point, my dad gave me two options: Either I figure out a way to make something out of them, or he is going to get me out of his house (as I made a *tremendous* amount of mess in the house). So I made the ribbon ball ornaments based on the stories I heard from my mom: Back to the old Chinese time, girls got married either through match makers or by tossing the embroidery ribbon balls, made by the lovely girls, to their secret boy friends. Well, their balls might be a bit big back then, but I made my ribbon balls small enough to hang on your tree or the rear mirror in your car.

There is no real name for these pretty ribbon ornaments, but I prefer to call them, "Formosa Stars". The origin of these ribbon ornaments is not from Portugal, but from Taiwan.

Each ball ornament is made with little thirty units/cones, hand stitched together. It is a very long process to get all the ribbon cut, folded, and then hand sewn together. Usually the time from the beginning to the end is about roughly 2 days. However pretty as they are, they are not toys and can only be used as decoration items.

I also make kanzashi, Japanese fabric flower pins, taught by my mother. She knows everything! The process is slow and delicate. The way my mom taught me is the traditional way, but I prefer to give the flowers a modern look to fit our life style better.

Making buttons is another new adventure. I just cannot resist anything related to machinery (small ones only)!

I hope you have fun browsing my shop and thank you for coming!
